Small Business Payroll

Payroll is a paperwork treadmill. Forms 940, 941, UCT-6, plus W-2s and 1099s at year-end. We keep it running.

Quarterly federal payroll

Form 941 reports federal income tax withholding, Social Security, and Medicare on a quarterly basis. Form 940 reports Federal Unemployment annually. We calculate, file, and make the tax deposits on your schedule.

Florida state payroll

UCT-6 is Florida's reemployment tax return, due quarterly. New employers file at the standard rate; experienced employers have rates tied to their unemployment claim history.

Year-end filings

W-2s and W-3 for employees. 1099-NEC and 1096 for contractors paid $600 or more during the year. Filed by the January 31 deadline.

Common questions

Can you run payroll for me, or just file the returns?
Both. We can either run payroll end-to-end, or integrate with an existing payroll provider and handle just the tax filings.
What if I get a payroll tax notice from the IRS or state?
We handle the correspondence. Payroll tax notices are frequent and most resolve with a short written response.
Do I need to issue 1099s?
If you paid any unincorporated contractor $600 or more during the year, yes. We track the threshold and file.
